|Writer's Block: Friends Forever
What do you bring most to a friendship?
Lots of randomness and tomfoolery. :) I also tend to give a lot of relationship advice.

So, lately I've been taking notice to how people dress, particularly women (yeah, I'm not really in to looking at guys). And, around here, they're all like clones. Apparently there is three things you MUST have to, I dunno... exist in society? Ugg boots. Northface jacket. Coach purse. Come on, people. I mean, not that it looks bad or anything, but when I see a group of girls walking in the mall, all looking identical... there's just something downright eerie and wrong about that. I was fine with it at first, but now that I see it more and more... it's beginning to irk me, and even becoming a little irritating.
I'm beginning to develop some sort of weird fascination with noticing it. First, I spot the the black fleece North Face jacket. Then, sure enough, I look down to check for the coach purse, which always seems to be there. Lastly, I check for the Ugg boots... without which the whole outfit would seemingly crumble. What ever happened to people wanting to be original... and unique?
And BTW, no offense to anyone reading this who chooses to dress like this, but, the women and teenagers alike all seem to have conformed to this clone-like style of dressing. Cheers to all who know they can be cool and NOT have to look like a clone! Current Mood: bothered

|Back from the dead
So, I thought I would use this easter sunday as a revival of my own journal. I know my lack of updating has been nothing short of downright shameful, but I'm hoping to turn over a new leaf. I'm grateful to see that not a single person has dropped me from their friends list, despite my inactivity. I think this is a good time to start writing again though as there are some big changes ahead!
Colorado awaits! Yep... I've decided that I've had my fill of the east coast, the oceans, (and the price of living in CT), and I'm now headed west with my lovely girlfriend... and our three cats. Looks to be about the end of April/early May, that's the goal. Now... I just have to get my ass in gear and start looking for a job out there, and a place to live, etc.
I also turn 28 in... nine days. it's weird, because I still don't feel a day over 17. More responsibility comes with getting older... but I've also noticed so does more freedom and fun. :) Alright alright.. let's see how good I am about sticking to this, we'll know if we see another entry before the end of the month.
oh yeah, Happy Easter, all. :) Current Mood: jubilant

More snow coming tonight. I went ahead and decorated my house completely in blue lights, it looks incredible! It comes from a childhood memory where my dad would always take me each year to this guys house who had his entire house done in blue lights. well... this year for the first time, at 27, I've finally done it for myself! Ill try to post pics soon... its hard to get a good pic of the lights at night time with no flash.

christ, it's been nine weeks since i updated! there just isn't any excuse for that. I really should just start doing it once a week or something. I really want to document all this stuff that's going on in my life, so maybe I can go back in read it when i'm old and say "yeah... you did that." and remember.
So, let's see, some talents and hobbies that I'd to like to learn in the next few years are:
1) Learn a fighting style. Preferably Eskrima or a form of kung fu.
2) Learn to play the harmonica.
3) To be a pro at racquetball... I've been playing every day at my health club for months now. At first, I was just constantly getting my ass kicked, getting shit-talked down to by the better players, but lately, I've been improving. I started doing it because I wanted an alternative for cardio than running on those damn machines... this was the answer I found, and now I'm hooked on it. This is one goal that I'm actively working on, I start taking lessons this friday. I'm excited!
There's more than just those three things, but that's a good start. At least I can check back in a year or twoand see how far I've gotten with them. I really wanna make the effort to update more regularly. So watch for it! Coming Fall of 2007.

So I just got back from Vermont! The vacation her and I had planned was to go to Hershey PA for a week, go to the amusement park during the day and do all the things there is to do there, and spend the nights camping at the Hershey campground. Well, come to find out, the hershey campground is a joke. It's like a big open field with NO privacy between sites, plus ours had two huge mounds of gravel piled up on it, and an abandoned building not far down to go with it. Mortified, we left and on a whim decided to go to our favorite place to camp... along the White River in Vermont.
The White River, for those who don't know, is quite possibly the cleanest river in the world. You can literally drink from it. It's crystal clear, and you can see straight down to the bottom at almost any depth. We usually start upstream at a bridge (which I've jumped off before), and go tubing down to the campground, which is about two miles. There's lots of wild rapids you encounter which is super fun, and there is also various swimming holes and calm pools along the way, many of which have rope swings tied off to tree branches, and rocks and cliffs that you can dive off of right into the river. So we stop along the way at these places and spend a good hour doing that, then get back in the tubes and continue down. So. Much. Fun.
So I'm back now... and after ten days off I have to return to work. bleh. That's ok, I feel very refreshed and more focused thanks to spending to much time in the river. Bring it! I'm out. Current Mood: calm

So we were all set to move into our new house, which we have been planning for the last month, scheduled to move in on the first... The fucking woman calls us up last night and tells us she can't move out of her house, cause she doesn't have a place to go. wtf?!so we've been living out of boxes, i scheduled the utilities to be shut off by May 1, already ordered shit for the new place, and have changed my address with my bank and my work. so... yeah, been busy looking for, ya know, a place to live.
Well other than that, we're in the middle of a nasty nor'easter. running around in torrential rain pour today wasn't all that fun. im getting some hot soup.

It's funny... there are actually people camped in tents outside of all the Wal-Mart's and Best Buy's around here, waiting for the release for the ps3. Most stores are only going to get about ten of them. They're going to charge around $600... but if you look on ebay, there are people paying upwards of over two grand for one! It's insane. I want one, but I think I'm gonna wait till the price drops a bit... and until all the bugs and whatnot get worked out.
But yeah... mad props to the people who've been camping out for the last couple nights. You rock. If I had the drive, and the time, I'd be right there with ya.

It's a nice night out for a Nov. 14th. I'm going to start updating this thing again if it kills me. Actually, my neice has been begging
me to get a myspace account... so after much deliberation, I finally broke down and got one. I haven't updated or added anything to it yet, though... so.
But yeah, I really have to start documenting these times of my life as they're happening... or I'll never remember them. I've really been going through a lot of change these past couple of years. Ah well, I'll update more later.

Happy Mom's day out there to all the mom's. I know I've got quite a few on my friends list. I'm having my mom over for dinner. It's her birthday today also, so it's gotta be kind of a two-for-one thing.
I still want to post pictures from las vegas, it's tough though, because I have to resize them and I basically haven't had the time to do that, plus it's tedious. But I will, I promise.
Oh, and I ordered all the parts for my computer! So it's gonna be completely built soon. Just ordered a 300GB SATA2 hard drive to go in it, plus my 7600 GT video card. Pics of that coming too when it's complete! Well, time to go start dinner... gotta be ready by three. ack! two hours! must go.

And my sister Heather is visiting from AZ... so we've got to hang out soon. I know you're only here for a week Heather, so give me a call today and let me know what your schedule is like.
|Monday, May 1st, 2006|
wow. just, wow. I don't even know where to begin about my trip to vegas. We just got back a few hours ago. I guess I'll just start with some highlights, in no particular order. Pictures will come soon when I get them off the camera.
* Seeing Cirque Du Soleil "Ka"
* Meeting Criss Angel "Mindfreak"
* Ghostbar, Studio 54 and Coyote Ugly were, by far, the three coolest clubs I've ever been in.
* watching many water shows at the fountains of Bellagio
* seeing the Folies Bergere show at the Tropicana
* taking over 1,000 pictures
* so much more that I haven't even absorbed yet
So yeah... I'll be writing much more about this trip, but for now I just wanted to write a little bit about it while everything is still fresh in my mind. Just incredible... Current Mood: exhausted

|Sponsored+ sites? Yuck.
So, I'm really disappointed in LJ (or rather, SixApart) for allowing advertisements on this site. (And for those who don't know, look at the LJ main page.) I guess I dont see a point in paying, cause I'm really not going to use any of the extra features I'd get, but the price just so I don't have to look at ads might be worth it.
I really hope no one on my friends list is considering joining that account type... seriously. So much for LJ's promise of "no ads- ever!" Yeah right. Current Mood: sickened
